Details for Margaret O'Beirne

Margaret O'Beirne, age 88, of The Villages, passed away on June 4, 2019. She was born April 18, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Nora O'Beirne. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Jack and is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her legion of friends - especially by her alter ego Kathleen Coffey.

As a sister, Margaret devoted 38 years of service to the "Congregation of the Infant Jesus - Nursing Sisters of the Sick Poor" located in Rockville Centre, New York. Among her many responsibilities was being the "Novice Mistress Trainer" for the spirituality of young sisters. Also: She spent four years performing missionary work in the Bahamas. Here in The Villages Margaret was an active member of the St. Timothy's Parish. She also eagerly volunteered her time at the St. Vincent De Paul Society where she was a past President. She also was a compassionate volunteer at the "Cornerstone Hospice", where her experience as one of the founders of the Good Samaritan Hospital's Palliative Care and Home Health Agency in Long Island NY, helped many who were facing end of life to receive that quality and compassionate care she herself received from the hospice staff.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place in Lady Lake on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to The St. Vincent De Paul Society in Margaret's memory.
