Julien Deschenes, 98 passed peacefully on June 28th,2019 at home with family present. Julien was born in Canada to Marie Jeanne and Ferdinand Deschenes on August, 13th 1920. At 5 years old he moved to Waterbury Ct. with his family. He married his sweetheart Lillian Collins on July 10th1943, They lived in Watertown, Ct. until 1990 when they retired to Spruce Creek South in Summerfield, FL.Julien attended Waterbury schools and worked for Patton Button for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Ouhu, Hawaii. After retirement he enjoyed playing golf, billards, cards, bowling, and horseshoes. He placed first in the senior horseshoe Olympics for is age group. Julien was predeceased by his wife of 75 years Lillian and survived by his children Jeane (Robert) Gauvin of Florida, Donald (Kathleen) Deschenes of Watertown Rita (Chris) Wolfe of Watertown, grand children Geoffrey (Meredith) Deschenes, Mark (Molly) Deschenes, Meredith (Brian) Tessner and Zachary Wolfe. He leaves his great grandchildren Dillion, Jack, Teel, Luke, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Oscar, Louise, Richard, Paul, Raymond Gerald, Harold, Doris, Florence, and Marie. Julien was a hard worker and devoted family man. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to help anyone in need. To his grandchildren "Pepe" will be remembered for his rocking chair, where they all had a place in his lap. There will be a memorial mass celebration for Julien at St. Thresa's Catholic Church in Belleview, FL on August 29th, 2019 at 10am followed by lunch in the church hall. The family request that memorial donations be made to St. Theresa's Catholic church 11528 SE US Hwy 301 Belleview, FL.
