Details for Caesar J. "Ike" Iacovone, Jr.

Caesar J. "Ike" Iacovone, 88, passed away peacefully at Brandley House Hospice on Monday, June 17, 2019 in Summerfield, FL. Ike loved and enjoyed people and all who knew him will miss his great smile, sense of humor and generosity. He was an avid fan and player of golf and enjoyed bocce, horseshoes, watching football and puttering in the yard. Ike served on the USS Currituck during the Korean War and was a proud and dedicated Navy veteran. He also took part in retrieving astronaut John Glenn from the Atlantic, was a member of the VFW Post in Mahopac, NY and a member of the Dodger Pines Country Club in Vero Beach and Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Summerfield. He drove an 18-wheeler for 31 years for Grand Union supermarkets in New York and Connecticut and retired in 1989. In addition to his beloved wife and teammate Jean, Ike is survived by two daughters, one stepson, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 am.
