A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at 6975 NW 33rd Drive, Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, 33538.

Betty Sue was born on March 9, 1961, in Plant City, Florida, to Benjamin J. and Ruby Lee (Beasley) Sundey. She attended Eighth Street Elementary in Ocala and graduated from Forest High School in 1979.

Betty Sue and Lenard Powell have been together for over 8 years and have been married for 6 of those years. Many people will remember Betty Sue from two beauty salons in Ocala, one called "Hair Spa", which she owned and managed for over 18 years, and "The Beauty Zone" where she was a partner, both of which were full-service

salons.

Betty Sue enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, boating, motorcycling, and basically any outdoor activity. She really enjoyed hosting big events for family and friends throughout the years. She was a great cook and everyone who had the opportunity to enjoy her cooking never left the table hungry. She loved to decorate and re-decorate her house, making it "her" home, which was always welcoming and warm. She loved Elvis Presley and that was reflected by her favorite portraits of him that were hung on the walls of her home.

Betty Sue was a very genuine, giving, and caring person, and she always placed other people first in her life. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. It sustained her during her battle with the illness that she finally succumbed to. This same faith helped her family cope with her loss. One of her favorite sayings was "Everything Happens for a Reason!".

Betty Sue is survived by her husband, Lenard Powell of Lake Panasoffkee; her son, Blake Ice, his wife Brooke, her grandson Wyatt; sisters Mary Jones of Ocala and Darlene DuBose of Ocala; brother Frank Sundey of Huntsville, Alabama, and brothers Jack Godwin and Wallace Sundey of Lakeland, Florida. She is also survived by her stepchildren Josh Powell (Janey) and Jami Barnes (Michael) of Wildwood Florida, and their children (Betty Sue's grandchildren), Harrison, Addyson, Brock, and Bo. She also is survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.

Betty Sue was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Beasley Sundey, her father Benjamin J. Sundey, her sisters Diane Burkhalter, Martha Powell, and Jean Baggett; and her brother Andrew Jackson "Jackie" Sundey.

Arrangements are in the care of Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL
