It’s beginning to look a lot like Camp Villages. Camp Villages 2017 Fun in the Florida Sun, hosted by The Villages Recreation & Parks Department, kicked off Wednesday with Cocoa, Cookies & Carols. The event at Lake Miona Recreation Center is the first of six holiday-themed activities, which will run through Dec. 28. Cocoa, Cookies & Carols offered Villagers the opportunity to bond with their grandchildren over Christmas carols and cookie decorating. Participants were greeted with balloons as unfrosted sugar cookies and steaming cups of cocoa with marshmallows sat on tables decorated with candy centerpieces.

Santa Claus kicked off the party with a spirited rendition of “Jingle Bells,” and a chorus of voices both young and old joined in. Family members came from all over to spend time with loved ones in The Villages.
