Golf Car Connectivy For Entire Community

The Villages adds 652-acre property extending southward from State Road 44 along CR 468

It's a piece of land that makes a special connection.

During The Villages Sales Division's annual “Sellabration” Saturday night, the Developer announced the purchase of 652 acres extending from State Road 44 near the Rohan Recreation Center southward along County Road 468. The new land connects the newest Villages property – 8,000 acres that will hold 14,000 new homes – with the current Villages property. And that means that all of The Villages properties – including the newest Villages of Fenney and Southern Oaks – will be contiguous and offer complete golf car access.

“This acquisition was obviously very important to us,” said Mark Morse, president and CEO of The Villages. “It allows all Villages residents to be connected via golf car, which is something we've strived to achieve since first venturing south of State Road 44 with the new neighborhoods. And we're thrilled to achieve that important goal so fast.”

Kelsea Morse Manly, director of operations for The Villages, said there are plenty of other benefits of the new acreage as well.
“It provides some excellent golf-car-accessible sites for shopping and services convenient to our newest residential neighborhoods,” she said. “That's important for our residents, as many do most of their shopping and running around with their golf cars. It's something they count on as Villages residents, and it's something we make a top priority with every new neighborhood.”

Jennifer Parr, vice president of The Villages Sales and Marketing, said she's extremely excited about the response to the Village of Fenney from throughout Florida's Friendliest Hometown.

“It really has been phenomenal,” she said. “And golf car connectivity is just the latest in a long line of positives that new neighborhood offers.”

Parr said it’s yet to be determined whether a limited number of home sites are feasible on the new property. And she added that the Developer will study exactly what path the multi-modal trail will follow and how it will cross State Road 44 and the Turnpike.

“It will be designed to allow the most convenience for Villagers,” she said. “That's certainly priority number one in our book.”
