Scott slams in 3 runs to lead rally in men’s 65+ group

THE VILLAGES — Trailing 9-8, 3 Amigos Pro Shop scored eight runs in the fourth inning to come away with a 20-14 victory over Corbies Pizza on Saturday in the men’s 65+ age group of The Villages Softball Championship Tournament at Saddlebrook Softball Complex.
Roger Scott slammed in three runs for the Amigos in the fourth inning with a triple and scored on a single by Rod Severson. Terry Cole and Tom Guinan each drove in a run with singles. Bob Wyly gave 3 Amigos Pro Shop a 16-9 lead with a two-run single.
Jim Smith and Dewey McVicker each hit a single to send in a run for Corbies Pizza in the fifth inning. Gene Dell knocked in a run with a single to cut the deficit to 17-12.
Beef O’Brady’s 23, Collier Classics 5
Beef O’Brady’s scored 10 runs in the first inning, which was enough to beat Collier Classics.
John Tehonica drove in two runs for Beef O’Brady’s with a triple and scored on a single by Gregg Foster. Ron Hellier and Paul Duda sent in a run each with singles. John Ramage drove in three runs with a triple, while Dave Mamuscia drove in a run with a single.
Bob Schneider gave Collier Classics an early 2-0 lead with a home run in the first inning.
Tehonica gave Beef O’Brady’s two runs in the third inning, including a home run.
Hellier sent in a run with a double in the third and a triple in the fourth.
Bob Nelson gave Collier Classics three runs in the fifth inning with a triple.
Beef O’Brady’s 13, 3 Amigos Pro Shop 7
Beef O’Brady’s scored eight runs in the second inning to come away with a victory over 3 Amigos Pro Shop.
John Tehonica, Jimmy Harrison and Al Mahar led Beef O’Brady’s with three hits each.
Bob Passiatore had three hits for 3 Amigos Pro Shop. Roger Scott gave the Amigos an early 1-0 lead with a home run.
Corbies Pizza 21, Collier Classics 4
Corbies Pizza kept its tournament hopes alive with a resounding victory over Collier Classics.
